Day 2 of the Upper Peninsula State Fair
ESCANABA– The Michigan State Fair may not be until the end of the month, but the UP is so unique, that we have one all our own.
The Upper Peninsula State Fair Authority kicked off its 91st annual State Fair in Escanaba on Monday. Thousands of people were in attendance to get their taste of the fair’s rides, prizes, food, and live performances.
“The cool thing about the UP state fair is that its representative of entire UP,” Said Robert Micheau, Executive Director at Visit Escanaba. “Every county in the Upper Peninsula is apart of the UP State fair. So it’s a real community effort and community feeling that you have at the fair here. Lots of family from across the UP.So I think that’s the big difference that there is a real sense of community at the UP State Fair.
The fair will be open from now until August 18th. Tonight, it will feature a performance from 906 live but patrons can look forward to appearances by Peacemakers, Theory of a Deadman, and Billy Ray Cyrus later this week
