ALGER COUNTY — At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, the Alger County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a single motorcycle accident near Ross Lake Road on H–58 in Alger County.

After investigation it was determined that two motorcycles were traveling eastbound on H–58 near Ross Lake Road in single file formation when a large tree fell between the two motorcycles into the oncoming path of the second motorcycle.

The driver of the rear motorcycle struck the tree, was ejected from the bike and traveled approximately 250 feet before coming to rest on the roadway. At the time of the accident, the driver was not wearing a helmet.

The victim was 63–year–old, Thomas Philip Miller, of Oxford, Michigan. He was transferred by Alger EMS to a landing zone where Valley Med Flight transferred him to UP Health Systems Marquette.

He remains in critical condition and ABC 10 will update you with this story as new information is released.
