3rd-Annual Chamber Children’s Carnival provides fun for families
ISHPEMING — There were free games and prizes galore at the 3rd annual Chamber Children’s Carnival, held earlier today.
The Greater Negaunee–Ishpeming Chamber of Commerce organized the event, with the help with help from community members.
“It’s kind of a give back to the community from the chamber,” said Bob Hendrickson, executive director of the GNICC. “It’s getting the chamber members and members of the community to kind of interact in a fun environment. We have donations from J-Goods and the Ishpeming Fire Department. They’ve donated bikes for us to give away tonight. A lot of businesses have given away small carnival prizes, and the chamber funds quite a few of the prizes also.”
The carnival had free hot dogs and pop for everyone, with the opportunity to win prizes and candy at every station.
Families could also enjoy face paintings and a chiropractic demonstration, along with bowling and a multitude of other activities.
Among the more popular stations was the dunk tank, where one local school principal felt the wrath of his students.
