MARQUETTE — The week of May 14th is National Skilled Nursing Center Week and to honor that the Norlite Nursing Center is celebrating. Week long activities have been held to celebrate the residents who live in long–term care and the employees dedicated to helping the residents.
At Norlite, it’s important to continue to improve the resident’s quality of life and keep them happy by having events like these.
“A lot of times people who work in nursing homes and long–term care facilities don’t get recognition and this week celebrates the staff who is dedicated to caring for our residents” said Norlite Activities Director, Amy Fraley.
Thursday’s event was an open house with a singing performance, a balloon princess, Smokey the Bear, and some goats. The residents were having a blast interacting with the animals and singing along to the music.
