Three car accident in Breen Township

DICKINSON COUNTY — Troopers from the Michigan State Police, Iron Mountain Post, responded to a three-vehicle personal injury crash January 25th, 2019.

At approximately 4:00 pm on M-69 at Kime Backlund Rd, Breen Township, in Dickinson County the crash had occurred.  The investigation determined that a vehicle, operated by an 89-year-old Hardwood woman, attempted to cross M-69 in the path of an eastbound vehicle. That vehicle was operated by a 62-year-old Washington State man. The driver of the eastbound was unable to avoid striking the crossing vehicle.

The colllision of the two vehicles sent the crossing vehicle into a third stationary vehicle. The driver of the crossing vehicle was transported to Dickinson County Hospital by Nordic EMS and later transferred to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay for further evaluation.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Assisting at the scene was Dickinson County Sheriff Department, Beacon Ambulance, Nordic EMS, and Breen Township Fire Department.
