DIGS Gastropub offering free meals to furloughed government workers

MARQUETTE — DIGS Gastropub is offering furloughed workers a free meal in the midst of the government shutdown.

Government workers can stop by the pub on Washington Street with their federal government employee I.D. to receive a free meal.

DIGS has been part of the community since 2017 and says they wanted to help the community of the government employees experiencing this, because it’s not their fault.

“It’s one of those things where we believe, if you give back to the community, the community will give back to you. The federal workers; work for the government and they are doing a community service job on the national level to help you out. It our duty to help them out and everybody has been in a tough time and has had somebody who lost a job or short on cash, anything like that,” said Patrick Digneit, Co-owner.

DIGS believes a little help will go a long way.

They are offering their DIGS dogs or a hamburger meal.

DIGS is open from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 A.M. , but they stop serving food at 10:00 P.M.
