CoderDojo906 will not be holding sessions for the Winter series
MARQUETTE — CoderDojo906 has made a difficult decision not to hold sessions during the winter of 2019.
CoderDojo906 started their volunteer based program back in 2014 to educate kids in coding and different technology experiences.
Right now they are focusing on re–tooling their different offerings and looking at different programs they can offer in the future.
The state of Michigan’s Education Leadership, is currently working on computer science standards for the whole state.
Most of the central U.P. schools do have computer science curriculum offerings.
CoderDojo906 still wants kids to get out there and embrace computer science.
“We encourage it, we are absolutely still there to help and support the educational system. We will still continue to throw challenges out there and hype it up; as well as provide resources to the community,” said Keith Glendon, CoderDojo906 Champion.
CoderDojo906 does not plan on closing.
Their Facebook page will still be active and they will continue to be facilitators of leadership and inspiration in computer science.
