ESCANABA — There are three separate road construction projects affecting traffic within the City of Escanaba over the next two weeks.

The areas of construction and dates for road closures are as follows:

3rd Avenue North, North Lincoln Road to Stephenson Avenue

  • On Wednesday, October 17th, the City of Escanaba will be paving the final layer of asphalt on 3rd Avenue North between North Lincoln Road and Stephenson Avenue. The entire route, including the intersection at Stephenson Avenue, will be closed to all traffic beginning at 7:00 AM and re-opened once paving is completed later in the day.

Danforth Road, 19th Avenue North to RR Tracks at Danforth Hill

  • On Thursday, October 18th, the City of Escanaba will be starting to reconstruct the surface of Danforth Road between 19th Avenue North (landfill road) and the railroad tracks to the north near Danforth Hill. The entire route will be closed to all traffic beginning at 7:00 AM and will remain closed throughout all of Friday October 19th for paving. Once all paving is completed, the roadway will be re-opened to traffic.

3rd Avenue North, North Lincoln Road to North 30th Street

  • On Monday, October 22nd, the City of Escanaba will be starting to reconstruct the surface of 3rd Avenue North between North Lincoln Road and North 30th Street. The entire route will be closed to traffic, including the North 26th Street intersection, beginning at 7:00am and will remain closed throughout the day. The paving date for this section of roadway has not been determined yet.
