VFW Post 4573 helps Feeding America
ISHPEMING — People in need of food in order to feed themselves and their families were able to do just that today, thanks to generous help from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4573, among others. A Feeding America Food Truck came to Ishpeming filled with fifteen thousand pounds of food.
People arrived to St. Joseph’s Church just after nine a.m. to take home a big basket of food. Fresh fruits, vegetables, rolls, and freezable edibles were among the items available. Today, about three hundred people showed up looking for food to take home.
“It leaves you with a good feeling, said VFW Post 4573 volunteer, Tom Lucas. “We have volunteers from all walks of life, we’ve got different organizations here – Veterans of Foreign Wars, the CrossBridge Church, Gauthier Insurance, and neighbors and friends.”
