New roof expected for Ishpeming Middle/High School
ISHPEMING — After heavy wind damage Ishpeming Middle/High School will be getting a new roof.
Last Spring during the months of March and April the Industrial Arts roof sustained heavy wind damage.
The entire Copper roof dates back to 1930.
The project is costing right around $250,000.
School staff is thankful for the appropriate coverage they are receiving to keep the historical significance to the school.
“We are able to replace the roof with the right materials and make it historically accurate. So we are putting copper back on the roof. Hopefully it will last for another 100 years,” said Anthony Betrucci, Director of Business Services.
This is a summer long project.
The project is expected to be completed by the start of school this year.
