Superior Central schools select Bobbi Ayotte to lead girls’ basketball program
Eben Junction – The Superior Central Schools Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Ms. Bobbi Ayotte has been selected as the new Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach. Ayotte replaces Greg Trowbridge who resigned earlier this spring.
“I am excited to get back in the gym with these young athletes to not only continue to teach them about the game, but to teach them life skills that they will carry with them throughout their years. I am eager to start this journey!” stated Coach Ayotte.
Ms. Ayotte is a Negaunee native and a Northern Michigan University graduate. She is currently working at the LMAS District Heath Departments as a Health Educator. In her role as an educator, she works within the Alger County schools teaching students life skills and suicide prevention.
As a three sport athlete in Negaunee, she lettered in basketball, volleyball, and track. She was medically redshirted at NMU for two years, and injuries prevented her from pursuing her dream of playing college basketball.
She is a former middle school and Freshmen girls’ basketball coach and was also an assistant coach for Northern Michigan University’s Women’s basketball team under the direction of Troy Mattson. Coach Ayotte has also been a MHSAA official for 15 years.
SC Athletic Director, Kris Bray, added, “I’m very excited that Bobby will be joining our coaching staff. Our athletes will benefit greatly from her expertise, knowledge, and love of the game. I believe our girl’s program will continue to grow and flourish under Coach Ayotte’s energetic spirit.”
