Small fire knocked down at abandoned home

ISHPEMING — Ishpeming Fire was dispatched to 112 North Cleveland for a small yard fire next to an abandoned home.

A passerby noticed some wood next to the house was smoking. A batch of wood and siding next to the house had caught on fire. Officials were able to control and knock down the fire before any damage was done.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. There is a high risk for fire when the temperature is warm, and areas have high winds. Be sure to keep an eye on any fires that you may be burning.
