SKANDIA TWP. —  At 8:19 P.M., Marquette County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a personal injury accident near US-41 and Dalton Road in Skandia Township.

A southbound 2011 Ford F150, driven by a 52-year-old male from Skandia, veered off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle struck an embankment and went airborne across Dalton Road. The vehicle came to rest on its passenger side on the south side of Dalton Road.

The male driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was transported to UPHS-Marquette by ambulance for serious injuries.

Marquette County Sheriffs were assisted by Chocolay Township Police, Michigan State Police, Skandia Township EMS and Fire, and UP Health Systems ambulance personnel.
