MARQUETTE COUNTY — Sawyer International Airport will be adding an additional flight to Chicago, effective May 2018. The airport made the announcement Friday morning in conjunction with Marquette County and the Lake Superior Community Partnership.

Current morning flights to Chicago O’Hare International Airport on American Airlines will continue, as well as the non-stop flights to Detroit and Minneapolis – St. Paul through SkyWest Airlines, which operates as Delta Air.

“We are excited about this second flight to Chicago from American Airlines as it will offer our passengers and community additional options in travel for business and pleasure,” said Jody Lindberg, Marketing and Development with Sawyer International Airport, in the statement. “This will provide Sawyer International Airport with five flights on our schedule.”
