Marquette man arrested for larceny and breaking and entering
MARQUETTE — A Marquette man was arrested for charges of larceny and breaking and entering.
Marquette Police arrested 19 year-old Sigurd John Utych of Marquette on February 1st. The Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office authorized a warrant of Utych’s arrest for six counts of larceny from a motor vehicle, two counts of breaking and entering of a building with intent, one count of larceny in a building and one count of safe breaking.
The arrest is a result of a joint investigation by the Marquette Police Department and the Michigan State Police Newberry Post. The investigation included several incidents involving the theft of numerous LED lights and several radios from City of Marquette Public Works vehicles and two breaking and entering cases involving a local Marquette business, all of which occurred in 2016 and 2017.
The total bond amount was set at $395,000. Utych was unable to post bond and is lodged at the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department.
