Driver falls asleep at wheel, causes two-car accident
MARQUETTE — Officers from the Marquette Police Department responded to a personal injury accident on M-553 near the Marquette Mountain Ski Hill on October 22nd around 1:50 p.m.
Fifty-six year-old Paul Bruk of Haverhill, MA fell asleep at the wheel while travelling northbound on M-553. The vehicle crossed the center line and collided head on with a southbound vehicle driven by 76 year-old Patricia Forchini of Gwinn.
Forchini was transported to UPHS — Marquette by EMS for non life-threatening injuries. Bruk was cited for careless driving.
The Marquette Police Department was assisted on the scene by UPHS EMS and the Marquette Fire Department.
