RNs reporting unsafe staffing to MDHHS

MARQUETTE — Nurses employed by UPHS-Marquette, a Duke LifePoint for-profit hospital, believe their documented concerns regarding incidents of unsafe patient care are being disregarded by management.

As members of the UPHS Marquette RN Staff Council/Michigan Nurses Association, the nurses are delivering a report compiling over 200 forms documenting over 780 incidents of unsafe patient care conditions to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and requesting an investigation of the hospital. The records have been collected since January 1, 2017.

Nurses will share highlights from the report, speak about conditions in the hospital, and deliver the report to the MDHHS. The nurses will be delivering this report Thursday afternoon. Stay with ABC 10 for the latest developments on this story.
