Carpenter talks running for office
ISHPEMING — The number of candidates lining up to run for the First Congressional District Seat continues to increase. Negaunee resident Dana Ferguson announced his candidacy for the seat last week.
Ferguson, who is a carpenter by trade, has never run for office. The father of five says he’s had enough of the blame game that’s gone on in Washington.
If elected, Ferguson says he would listen to constituents he represents on both ends of the spectrum.
“Going off the platform that I’m representing democrats I think is a mistake and it doesn’t do justice to the role of a representative and it doesn’t give the people of the district the respect they deserve,” said Ferguson.
Ferguson joins NMU professor Dwight Brady and former marine Matt Morgan as candidates on the democratic side.
