Car chase suspect identified
MARQUETTE — The man who led police on a brief chase through Marquette Township Saturday morning has been identified.
Brock Lewis Weaver, 22, of Negaunee, is facing charges of fleeing/eluding police – third degree and operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC) of .17 or more, which is more than twice the legal limit in Michigan.
Weaver led a Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputy on a chase on Grove Street just after 1:00 a.m. It ended when Weaver disregarded a stop sign on County Road 492. His vehicle went up an embankment and into a set of trees.
Weaver was not injured in the chase. His arraignment has been set for April 13th, 2017.
Bond was set at 10% of $7,500.
