Students feature ‘Lost and Found’ artwork

MARQUETTE — The work of four students from Northern Michigan University is being featured this month at the Marquette Arts and Culture Center.

The small works gallery at the Peter White Public Library features work from NMU students, who are all studying different things. Two of the artists- Emma Goebel and Jeni Ihrke- also serve as curators for the display.

From photography to sculpture and more, every piece of artwork centralizes around what the words ‘Lost and Found’ mean to each artist.

“Well ‘Lost and Found’ really what it was what I lost originally, which was a disposable camera,” said Ihrke. “I hadn’t touched one in years and I really just wanted to bring that back into my work and starting from my origins,” she added.

The student’s artwork will remain on display for the rest of the month.
