One injured in car-pedestrian accident
MARQUETTE — One person was taken to the hospital after a second car-pedestrian accident in the City of Marquette Monday night.
Marquette City Police say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on North Third Street. A vehicle was headed northbound on the 700 block of North Third Street when a pedestrian stepped into the vehicle’s path. The driver was unable to stop in time and struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian told police that they were crossing the street mid-block and had misjudged the closing speed of the vehicle. They were unable to step out of the way before being hit.
The pedestrian was transported to UP Health System – Marquette for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
