Sheriff's Department telephones down

ESCANABA — Officials report that phone lines at the Delta County Sheriff’s Department are down as of 2:00 p.m. EDT Monday.

The outage is due to a drainage issue. The jail’s phone system is also down. Officials say 911 should be contacted in case of an emergency, as that number has not been impacted. All non-emergency calls can be directed to Delta County Central Dispatch at (906) 786-5911.

At this time, it is unknown when the phones will be operational.
