PONTIAC — The search is ongoing for a prisoner who was mistakenly released from an Oakland County Jail on August 24th.
The prisoner was in custody at the Oakland County Jail. Following his court appearance, Michigan Department of Corrections officials say he was released from the jail rather than being returned to MDOC custody.
Johnny Rodgers, 25, is serving a seven to 15 year sentence for assault with intent to commit murder, armed robbery, and felony firearms committed in 2014. His earliest possible release date was set for July of 2024.
Rodgers is considered dangerous and should not be approached if spotted. The Department of Corrections is asking people to spread the word. To keep updated on the situation, check out the Michigan Department of Correction’s Facebook page: click here.
