Moving forward after a fire
AU TRAIN TOWNSHIP — On Tuesday afternoon, one of the three fire halls in Au Train Township went up in flames.
The fire occurred at the 16 Mile Lake Fire Hall just after 5 p.m. As a result of the fire, a full pumper tanker truck and brush fire truck were destroyed, along with all of the equipment that was inside. There were no injuries reported.
“We’re going to sit down and try to figure out what our next step is,” said Assistant Chief for Au Train Township Fire AJ Schierschmidt, “we just have to work at getting it rebuilt and getting another truck out there. Right now we’re going to use our Christmas Hall and our Au Train Hall and we’re going to count on mutual aid from other departments at this time. So wherever the fire is located the next closest department is also going to be getting a page.”
At this time the cause of the fire is unknown.
