Local hospital adds to internal medicine staff
HANCOCK — An Upper Peninsula hospital is welcoming a new member to its internal medicine staff.
Nurse Practitioner Debbie Lorenz is bringing experience with healthy lifestyle modifications for preventing and reversing chronic disease in adult and geriatric populations to UP Health System – Portage in Hancock. Lorenz partnered with Dr. Katriina Hopper and began seeing patients in late November. She will soon be working with Nephrologist Dr. David Woltmann to help care for patients with kidney disease.
Lorenz hails from Duluth, Minnesota, and brings along twenty-plus years of registered nursing experience in medical-surgical and cardiac intensive care. In a statement sent by the hospital, Lorenz expressed her admiration for the “grit and determination” of her Copper Country patients. She also said she is looking forward to working with Dr. Woltmann and the dialysis team.
