Huskies move up in two different polls

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech is ranked No. 14 in the D2Football.com poll and No. 18 in the American Football Coaches Association poll this week. The Huskies own a 4-0 record on the season.

Tech climbed moved up just one spot in the D2Football.com poll from its No. 15 position a week ago. It surged three spots in the AFCA poll.

The Huskies earned 24-23 victory over arch rival Northern Michigan last Saturday (Sept. 26) to retain the Miner’s Cup for a sixth straight season.

Once again, four GLIAC teams are ranked in the D2Football.com poll: Ferris State (No. 2), Michigan Tech (No. 14), Ashland (No. 19) and Grand Valley State (No. 24). Three appear in the AFCA poll: Ferris State (No. 4), Ashland (No. 13) and Tech (Tied for No. 18).

Michigan Tech will be idle this week before hosting Northwood for Homecoming on Oct. 10.
