Newberry woman sentenced, could spend 20 years behind bars

NEWBERRY — A Newberry woman in court on drug charges was handed her sentence today in Luce County Circuit Court.

Joy Love Derusha was sentenced to three to twenty years behind bars with credit for 168 days served. She’ll also have to pay a total of $856 in fines and costs.

Derusha plead guilty to two counts of delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance, less than fifty grams in April. She was originally charged with maintaining a drug house as well.

Derusha was arrested in January as part of UPSET, East Team, bust.
