Standoff suspect pleads guilty
IRON MOUNTAIN — A Norway man has entered a guilty plea after a two-hour standoff incident Sunday evening.
51-year-old Robert Anderson pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm under the influence Monday afternoon in Dickinson County District Court. The charge stems from an incident on the 900 block of Iron Street in Norway.
Officers from the Norway Police Department say they were called to a domestic incident around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, they found that Anderson had barricaded himself in a trailer behind a house with a firearm. Police say he didn’t threaten anyone but himself. They were able to take Anderson into custody around 11:30 p.m.
Anderson will be sentenced July 21st.
