Summertime is construction time for MDOT
ISHPEMING — MDOT is gearing up for a couple more projects that are slated to begin soon.
Looking ahead to next week, MDOT crews will be resurfacing 9.5 miles of US–2, from Tannery Road to Port Island Road in Schoolcraft County. If you are traveling in that area, the project will require daytime lane closures, so give yourself a few extra minutes to get through that stretch of road.
The project is projected to be finished in mid to late August.
Beginning on June 11, MDOT crews will be repairing a culvert on US–45 at Bear Creek near Ontonagon. The culvert replacement is expected to take just over a week to complete.
MDOT will have a detour posted in that area, as both lanes in that will be closed.
