New MAPS app enhances education experience
MARQUETTE — Marquette Area Public Schools has developed and launched a mobile app.
The new mobile app is available for free download on Apple or Android devices. The goal is to make finding information about their schools easier and increase communication between students, parents and the public. The new app is designed to be convenient and well organized, making it easy for people of all ages to use.
“Everything is single-touch push button instant communication,” said Superintendent Bill Saunders, “where a lot of the same information is available on our website, but our website contains about a hundred or more pages, and to scroll through and find information is difficult. So with the app, if I want to call the high school office, with just one click Marquette Senior High School it will dial the number for you and you’re good to go.”
The app also allows for instant access to student grades through Skyward Family Access, so parents can look up their student’s grades anywhere they can access their app. There is access to the school’s food service department, which will allow students and parents to see the lunch menu and pay their lunch bill.
