Johnson signs with NMU men’s basketball
MARQUETTE, MI — Northern Michigan University head men’s basketball coach Bill Sall announced friday the signing of Isaiah Johnson (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) to a National Letter of Intent to play with the Wildcats next season.
“He is a versatile player, I think at our level, we are looking for him to play one through the four,” said Sall. “He is a really good athlete, is going to be able to defend multiple positions and I think he gives us increased ball handling skills and another player that is committed to playing hard. He had a touch senior year, he was playing well at the beginning and broke his wrist but came back and played well. Great recruit for us and a number of schools were after him and he felt this was the best fit for him athletically and academically.”
Johnson, a 6-5 guard, averaged 15.9 points per game before missing 11 games of his senior season because of an injury.
He was named second-team All-North Shore Conference as a junior and was an honorable mention as a senior.
Johnson is the 23rd ranked player in the Wisconsin 2015 Class.
