HOUGHTON — Although the Michigan Tech’s season didn’t end the way they wanted, no one can deny that it was a very successful year for the Huskies. Successful team needs a great coach and today Coach Mel Pearson was honored for his great season.
Pearson was named the 2014–2015 ‘College Hockey News’ Coach of the Year. The fourth–year coach led MTU to their first trip to the NCAA tournament in 34 years.
The Huskies finished with a 29–10–2 record this year, tied for third most in school history.
Michigan Tech spent a vast majority of the year among the elites in the country, sitting in the top 11 for the final 20 weeks.
