Michigan Tech basketball teams honor senior class
HOUGHTON — It was a great weekend for Michigan Tech basketball, as the men’s and women’s teams both earned victories over Saginaw Valley State on Valentine’s Day.
But not only were they passing out candy hearts, they were celebrating senior night as well. Here’s reaction from both head coaches on how much this past weekend’s performance meant to the seniors.
“The most proud I am of the game is that we took care of the seniors in the right matter, being it’s their day today, I was just happy for Stelzer, Romback and Hecht because those guys, they’ve given us their heart and soul for four years now and what they’ve done is unbelievable for the success of this program,” said Coach Luke.
“I think it’s a great day for our seniors. We were able to celebrate them with clinching the North Division title and also with honoring them with how our team played. I’m obviously pretty happen with that one,” Coach Cameron said.
The men’s team is currently 17-6 and will wrap up their season with three straight road games. The Lady Huskies have been on fire this season with a 22-1 record, undefeated at home. They will end the season on the road as well at Northwood, Lake Superior State and NMU.
