Michigan DNR selling spring turkey hunting license applications

LANSING — While a lot of us may have had our fill of turkey over the holidays, it’s time for turkey hunters to start thinking about getting licenses for the spring.

The Michigan DNR is selling spring turkey hunting applications through February 1st. Applications are $5. They can be bought wherever hunting licenses are sold or by going online to mdnr-elicense.com.

Applicants can check online starting March 2nd to see whether they were drawn for a license. Leftover licenses will be sold until the quota is met in each hunt unit and hunt period.

Turkey hunters can only get a spring turkey license after obtaining the base license required for all Michigan hunters.

The spring turkey season will run from April 20th through May 31st with several different hunt periods to choose from.
