Reward offered for info on fatal downstate pursuit
LANSING — Crime Stoppers is offering a reward to anyone with information regarding a police pursuit that ended with the death of a downstate deputy.
Ingham County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Grant Whitaker was killed just after 2 a.m. last Sunday while pursuing a light-colored SUV. The incident occurred outside the village of Stockbridge around M-52 and Dexter Trail.
The Michigan State Police is investigating the crash and is reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying and locating the suspect vehicle and its occupant or occupants. Crime Stoppers will reward $10,000 to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person, or people, involved in the pursuit.
