Tech’s Mielke named to All-Midwest team
ROLLA, Mo. — Michigan Tech soccer player Jacqueline Mielke (Green Bay, Wis.) has been named Daktronics All-Midwest Region First Team by the region’s sports information directors it was announced today.
Mielke, a sophomore midfielder, started all 18 games and led the team in goals (nine) and points (21) on the season. She scored three game-winning goals including a double-overtime tally vs. Walsh on Oct. 5. The All-GLIAC Second Team pick helped the Huskies to an 11-5-2 record and the second NCAA Tournament berth in just the program’s fifth year of existence.
Mielke now be placed on the national ballot and be considered for All-America honors from Daktronics. The All-America teams are scheduled to be released on Wednesday, December 3.
