Huskies ranked No. 5 by USCHO.com

HOUGHTON – Michigan Tech climbed four spots to No. 5 in this week’s USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. The Huskies are 8-0 overall and 6-0 in the WCHA.

Tech also received two first place votes in the USCHO Poll and one in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll.

The nation’s longest winning streak continued as Tech swept Alaska Anchorage in a WCHA series over the weekend (Nov. 7-8) at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. The Huskies shutout the Seawolves 2-0 Friday and won 3-1 Saturday. Tech was last 8-0 during the 1972-73 season.

This weekend (Nov. 14-15), the Huskies hit the road to Bemidji State. The puck drops at 8:37 p.m. Friday and 8:07 p.m. Saturday. The two teams met last year in Houghton, walking away with a pair of 2-2 ties.
