Bessemer Township man jailed for police chase

BESSEMER — A 20-year-old Bessemer Township man will spend a year in jail for his involvement in a vehicle chase in Gogebic County.

Michael Johnson recently pleaded guilty to resisting and obstructing a police officer, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license. Two additional charges were dropped under the terms of a plea agreement. Johnson has received credit for 124 days already served.

He led police on a vehicle chase and foot chase in June. Officers say they found marijuana and other drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.
