MAPS teachers to boycott district’s open house

Schools across the Upper Peninsula are getting ready for students to return to the classroom.

But one district’s open house will be missing a very important facet the day before school starts.

In the latest chapter of their displeasure in working without a contract, Marquette area teachers have decided against attending the district’s open house next Wednesday, August 27.  The decision was made by the Marquette Area Education Association.

The MAEA said they are looking forward to meeting students on the first day of school.
