Rapid River man facing two felony charges after domestic violence incident
A Rapid River man is facing a number of charges, including two felonies, for his alleged involvement in a domestic violence incident.
Eric Williams, 27, was arraigned Friday in Delta County District Court on four charges: assault by strangulation – a ten year felony, interfering with electronic communications – a two year felony, domestic violence, and malicious destruction of personal property less than $200 – both of which are misdemeanors.
The Michigan State Police say Williams fled the scene of a domestic violence incident in Masonville Township and was arrested after a short foot chase. The victim, a 23-year-old Escanaba woman, suffered minor injuries.
Williams is in the Delta County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond. He will appear in court August 14th for a preliminary exam.
