Domestic violence suspect arrested after foot chase
Michigan State Police have arrested a suspect believed to have been involved in a domestic violence and malicious destruction of property incident.
Troopers from the Gladstone Post responded to a 911 call out of Masonville Township in Delta County around 2:00 p.m. Thursday. Troopers found the victim, a 23-year-old Escanaba woman, with minor injuries from the incident.
Her vehicle was also damaged.
Police say the suspect, a 27-year-old Rapid River man fled the scene on foot and troopers pursued. The suspect was later arrested near US-2 in Rapid River and now faces domestic assault and malicious destruction of property charges.
His name will not be released until he is arraigned in 94th District Court. The incident remains under investigation.
Troopers were assisted by the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Escanaba Public Safety and Gladstone Public Safety.
