Florek signs new deal with Bruins

Marquette native Justin Florek has signed a new contract with the Boston Bruins. Florek received a one–year deal that will allow him to play for both the Boston Bruins and the Providence Bruins next season without having to clear waivers.

Florek made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins in January, becoming the first person ever from Marquette to play in the NHL. He scored his first career goal against the Los Angeles Kings on Jan 9.

Florek made his postseason debut against the Detroit Red Wings in April. He scored the Bruins first goal of the postseason against the Wings. Florek begins training camp with the Bruins organizaton in September.
