A police standoff on Marquette’s South Side has ended peacefully.
Marquette Police arrested two suspects believed to be involved in multiple robberies in the area around 8:15 a.m. after they were holed up inside an apartment at The Preserve at Orianna Ridge for at least an hour. Eyewitnesses say the two men appeared to be in their mid to late 20’s.
Police were seen taking a camouflaged rifle case from under a car parked outside the home. The Resident Manager of the complex says the two men were not residents of The Preserve, and that no other units were involved in the burglaries. It’s unknown at this time how many homes were robbed and what was taken.
Marquette Police are still investigating the scene and analyzing the evidence for further information. A full release is expected to be sent out later today.
