UPDATE: Name of police chase suspect released

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department says the suspect is Michael Johnson, 19.
He has now been arraigned in Gogebic County District Court and is still in jail on $5,000 bond.

A 19-year-old Bessemer Township man is in custody this morning following a short vehicle pursuit and foot chase late Friday night.
The Gogebic County Sheriff’s office says once the suspect was taken into custody shortly after midnight, a significant amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia was found inside his vehicle.
The suspect, whose name won’t be released until after his felony arraignment Monday, faces one count of fleeing and eluding a police officer, one count of resisting and obstructing a police officer, one count of reckless driving, one count of driving on a suspended license, and one count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. He is currently lodged in the Gogebic County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
