Weather postpones baseball tournament
The Gregg Johnson Memorial American Legion Baseball Tournament has been postponed. A constant rainfall that started early Friday morning continued through the afternoon, when tournament officials decided to call off games for the day.
Both American Legion Baseball fields in Escanaba and Gladstone were flooded with water. It has been a very wet week of weather in the Southern U.P., especially in Delta County.
Here is the new schedule for the tournament:
Saturday at Gladstone
10am: Marquette vs. Midland
12:30pm: Gladstone vs. SSM (Ontario)
3pm: Marquette vs. SSM (Ontario)
5:30pm: Gladstone vs. Midland
Saturday at Escanaba
10am: Sault Ste. Marie vs. DePere
12:30pm: Manitowac vs. DePere
3pm: Sault Ste. Marie vs. Plover
5:30pm: Escanaba vs. Manitowac
8pm: Escanaba vs. Plover
Sunday at Gladstone
10am: Sault Ste. Marie vs. Manitowac
12:30pm: Gladstone vs. Marquette
Sunday at Escanaba
10am: Plover vs. Midland
12:30pm: Sault Ste. Marie vs. DePere
3pm: Escanaba vs. DePere
