Great Lakes Recovery Centers now have a new home.

They’ve renovated and moved into the former Tobin Medical Center in Ishpeming. Officials from the organization had a ribbon-cutting ceremony today followed by tours for community members wanting to see the new facility.

The building was acquired from Bell Hospital with the use of USDA Rural Development funding. Before settling in Ishpeming, the GLRC rented space around Marquette County, which limited the services that could be offered.

CEO Greg Toutant said, “This allows us to relocate to Ishpeming where we can finally have some ability to expand our infrastructure as well as to expand outpatient services for the western end of Marquette County.”

Officials see this expansion as the beginning of an even more prominent impact in Marquette County.

“I think in the near future our expanded access in Ishpeming will allow for further development of additional behavioral health programming for the western end of Marquette County as well as our existing operations in Marquette,” Toutant said.

Great Lakes Recovery Centers provide counseling and rehabilitative services to those struggling with behavioral health issues.
