NMU track & field athletes will compete at NCAA Championships
Three members of the NMU track & field team will compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Senior Cheyenne Stewart will participate in the triple jump, junior Christina Toogood will compete in the 1,500 meter run and freshman Jasmine Williams will compete in the discus.
Stewart was an All-American in the indoor triple jump and won GLIAC Championships in both the indoor and outdoor triple jump. Toogood earned her spot after winning the 1500-meter title at the GLIAC Outdoor Championships. Toogood was also an All-American in the 800 meter run.
Michigan Tech sophomore Jani Lane posted a time in the 1500 meters that meets the provisional NCAA men’s qualifying standard in a meet last week, but there was no word Tuesday night about whether or not he’d been invited to compete at the national level.
The Division II Outdoor Championships will be held at Grand Valley State May 22nd through the 24th.
