Two Alger County teens sentenced for mobile meth lab
Two of the four Munising residents who were found with a mobile meth lab in their vehicle in January have been sentenced in Alger County Circuit Court.
Jordan Maddox, 20, and Cortne Cornish, 19, were sentenced for one count of ‘operating/maintaining a meth lab’ after pleading guilty in February and March, respectively. Due to the fact that Maddox and Cornish were between the ages of 17 and 20 when they committed the crime, the terms of their sentences cannot be released under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act. However, the felony count is punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine.
Trevor Maxon, 17, was already sentenced in March, but his terms fall under the same stipulation.
Trent Howard, 21, does not meet that requirement and, in turn, the specifics of his sentencing will be allowed to be released after his May 5th court date.
All four defendants were arrested in January after Troopers from the Munising Detachment of the Michigan State Police discovered a mobile meth lab in the group’s 2003 Ford Taurus during a traffic stop.
