Delta County stabbing incident sends one to the hospital
A 44-year-old Escanaba man is recovering from injuries he sustained during a stabbing incident Saturday night.
Troopers from the Gladstone Post of the Michigan State Police say it happened around 8:45 p.m. in Ford River Township. After investigating the scene, police arrested a 73-year-old suspect from Escanaba on felonious assault charges. He remains lodged in the Delta County Jail. Delta County EMS transported the victim to OSF St. Francis Hospital, where he received treatment.
No names or additional information will be released until the suspect has been arraigned in Delta County District Court.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, Escanaba Public Safety and Delta County EMS.
The incident remains under investigation.
