Armga makes All-Midwest Region Team

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech senior guard Austin Armga was named to the 2013-14 Daktronics, Inc. All-Midwest Region Second Team. The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.
Armga, a native of Waupun, Wis., leads the Huskies in scoring (23.2), rebounding (5.1) and minutes (34.3), while shooting 51.5 percent from the floor and 87.6 percent from the free throw line. He ranks 10th all-time in scoring at Tech with 1,515 points. Armga was also named a Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-American and to the All-GLIAC First Team.
The Huskies were selected as an at large bid for the 2014 NCAA Division II Tournament and play No. 14 Southern Indiana on Saturday (Mar. 15) in the Midwest Regional. Top-seeded Drury hosts the tournament.
USI’s Aaron Nelson was named the 2014 Daktronics, Inc. Midwest Region player of the year. Nelson is joined on the first team by Lake Superior State’s Derek Billing, Findlay’s Greg Kahlig, Hillsdale’s Tim Dezelski and Mike Carlson of Truman State.
